GREENWICH, CT — A water main replacement project is scheduled to begin March 22 on Bruce Park Avenue in Greenwich, according to Aquarion Water Company.
Work is expected to be completed by the end of June, and final paving will be scheduled in coordination with the town of Greenwich.
According to a news release, the project will replace approximately 890 feet of water main and is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion's water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The infrastructure upgrades will also help to reduce leaks and water main breaks that can cause service interruptions.
"We greatly appreciate residents' patience during this project," Bill Dwinells, manager of utility programs for Aquarion, said in a news release. "We will work closely with our customers, contractor, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions."
Due to construction, customers should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during the working hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Westport-based A.J. Penna & Son Construction Company will serve as the contractor for the water main replacement project.
