FREMONT, CA — Firefighters in neighboring Newark and Union City had their hands full with house fires Monday afternoon and evening. One pet died, but no people were injured.
A total of nine people were displaced by the fires.
In each instance, the Red Cross responded to assist the families.
The first fire happened on Appian Way in Union City, shortly after 3:30 p.m. That fire displaced four people.
The second fire happened on Charmwood Court in Newark just after 7:30 p.m. That fire killed one pet and displaced five people.
