HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Buttermilk Sky Pie is opening its doors in Birkdale Village this week. The Huntersville opening marks the first North Carolina location for the chain, which has 17 other bakery locations throughout the southeast.
The pie shop, which is located between J.Jill and Uniquities in Birkdale, opens Tuesday with numerous events planned throughout the week to celebrate its grand opening.
The store will host an official ribbon cutting ceremony with the Huntersville Chamber of Commerce Thursday at 4 p.m. On Friday, Bubbles & Brews will offer free drink tickets with the purchase of a four pie stack or nine-inch pie from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
New customers will also be rewarded Saturday, when the first 50 customers will receive a card for free four-inch pies for a year.
On Sunday — Pi Day — all four-inch pies will be priced at $3.14.
Pie flavors offered at the Huntersville location include Key Lime, Southern Custard, Granny's Apple, I-40 (pecans, chocolate chips, and toasted coconut), Chewy Chocolate Chip, Nanny's Pecan, Peanut Butter Cream, Chocolate Cream, and Coconut Cream.
"Pie has always been a timeless tradition that brings people together to celebrate life's special moments," said Gabby Sillyman, who owns and operates the new location with her sister Savannah Lape. "We are dedicated to creating a special in-store experience for each guest and are looking forward to sharing our delectable homemade pies with the community."
