Women's Sewing Classes are now available through Free 2 Fly starting this February. This will be beginners class with 4, two hour classes. We are so excited to announce we are going to be offering Adult Sewing Classes again this month! This classes we did last year were a huge hit and we cannot wait to welcome another group of women into our workspace to learn this skill. This first class is for beginners and we only have 8 spots available, so don't wait! Participants will learn about their sewing machine, sewing tools, and basic sewing skills. To participate in this class you will need your own sewing machine. At the end of the 4 weeks, participants will have completed an apron. Here's what you need to know: What: Beginners Sewing Class Who: Women, 18 and up. Where: Our workspace! 283 N Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN When: First Class - Monday, March 22, 6-8 pm Second Class - Monday, March 29, 6-8 pm Third Class - Monday, April 5, 6-8 pm Last Class - Monday, April 12, 6-8 pm Cost: $150.00 Lesson 1: Getting Started Objective: Participants will get to know their machine, how to thread upper and lower thread, and what supplies they will need. Participants will practice threading their machine and changing their needle. Lesson 2: Sewing Basics Objective: Participants will learn about types and sizes of stitches, how to sew a straight line, backstitch, and pivot. Participants will practice sewing straight lines on paper and fabric. Lesson 3: Project Part 1 Apron Objective: Participants will cut out a pattern and begin sewing apron. Lesson 4: Project Part 2 Apron Objective: Participants will continue sewing and finishing apron. At the end of the 4 weeks, you will have completed your very own apron! If time allows, we will use the leftover fabric to make matching potholders. Upon registering, you will be given further instructions, information, and a supply list.
