Seaglass Village is looking for a few reliable Maintenance Team members with attention to detail in order to ensure that its common areas, pools and property are maintained in an orderly fashion for our owners and guests which will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation. The ideal Maintenance Worker will work under the direction of the Maintenance Lead. This is a full-time position from April 1 through November 30, starting in March. Schedule is somewhat flexible as to days/times; however, the schedule may vary from week to week based on the needs of the rentals and projects. Saturdays during the months of July and August are required as all rental cottages check in/out on that day. Sundays may be required during May/June and September/October instead of Saturdays but will be determined based on needs at the time. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: · Clean pools, including vacuuming, cleaning skimmers and filters · Test pools and treat with chemicals in accordance to Maine state laws · Organize pool decks daily so that all furniture and umbrellas are lined up in an orderly fashion; wipe each lounger, chair and table so that they are dry. · Empty trash cans at each pool and at other locations throughout the resort, relining each trash can with a new can liner · Transporting trash to front compactor, including operation of the compactor · Ensuring compactor and recycle dumpster areas are kept clean/tidy, including cleaning grounds surrounding each area · Pruning trees, trimming shrubs and spreading of mulch in order to maintain all resort grounds in an attractive manner at all times. · Complete daily paperwork. Daily check lists, work orders, ect. · Notify Maintenance Lead immediately of any issues that may arise with owners, guests of owners, renters or other personnel · Customer-oriented and friendly · Organized and detail-oriented · Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety · Assist other departments when the need arises · Other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Lead Qualifications: · Proven work experience as a Maintenance worker or similar role · Some technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, heating, plumbing, carpentry) · Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations · Organized and detail-oriented · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Ability to work quickly without compromising the quality or completion of a project or task · Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions · Ability to use text messaging and messaging apps to communicate · Ability to work independently and efficiently · Knowledge and understanding of the English language · Integrity and professionalism must be abundant in every situation · Valid Maine or other driver’s license in good standing · Ability to pass a comprehensive national criminal background check · Ability to operate a golf cart · Certified Pool Operator Certified a plus, but not necessary. It may become necessary to become certified, at Seaglass Village’s discretion and as business needs arise, after employment is offered. In that case, Seaglass Village shall pay for associated expenses involved in the schooling/testing to become certified, however, such fees shall be reimbursed to Seaglass Village by employee in the event that the employee or Seaglass Village terminates his/her employment before October 31st. Education or Experience (including computer skills): · High school diploma or HiSet/GED · Professional certifications a plus, but not necessary · At least 1 years proven work experience as a Maintenance worker or similar role
