The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for Candidates to share their education, knowledge, experience, and their plans. PLEASE READ: Philadelphia Communities have a low voting turnout during local elections. There's a disadvantage and lack of exposure to real voter education in the Community. PA Democratic Women of Excellence understands that they must provide voter education, background knowledge about political candidates, political positions, get the community involved, and to keep them engaged. To ensure that our participates learn about each Candidate, we will provide index cards for you to ask the Candidates questions. If time permits, you will be able to ask a question in person. Due to the CDC guidelines, we will be Practicing Social Distancing and all attendees Must Wear A Mask. The 1st floor is for General Admission and the 2nd floor for VIP ($50 Donation - limited space). Please reserve your spot ASAP. We continue to make sure we provide education, resources, and information to voters and potential voters. We also, host events and activities to improve and empower the lives of our communities. Your donation of $1.00 - $100.00 ( your choice) would really support our initiatives. We are asking all Candidates to donate $25 towards this event. Please be advised that we are a non-tax deductible organization. Thanks in advance for your support. FOR YOUR INFORMATION: City of Philadelphia 2021 Race: The city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is holding general elections for district attorney, city controller, judge of election, inspector of election, common pleas judges, and municipal court judges on November 2, 2021. A primary is scheduled for May 18, 2021. The filing deadline for retention candidates in this election was January 4, 2021. The filing deadline for primary candidates in this election is March 9, 2021, and the filing deadline for independent candidates in this election is August 2, 2021. The seat held by Justice Thomas Saylor (R) is up for partisan election on November 2, 2021. Appellate Court🔴⚪️🔵 The terms of four Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court and two Pennsylvania Superior Court judges will expire on January 3, 2022. Additionally, one seat on the Pennsylvania Superior Court is vacant. Commonwealth Court judges Anne Covey, Mary Hannah Leavitt, and Renee Cohn Jubelirer and Superior Court judges John Bender and Mary Jane Bowes must stand for retention election on November 2, 2021, in order to remain on the bench. The filing deadline for judges seeking retention was January 4, 2021. Two seats are up for partisan election on November 2, 2021. One seat is on the Pennsylvania Superior Court and is vacant; the other seat is on the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court and is currently held by Judge Andrew Crompton heading into the election. A primary is scheduled for both seats on May 18, 2021. The filing deadline for regular election candidates is March 9, 2021.
