Small Boat Sailing Merit Badge and Kayaking Merit Badge Clinic “The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects the wind to change; a leader trims the sails.” Come earn the small boat sailing and kayaking merit badges, learn how to trim the sails and paddle your craft with Sea Scout ship 1000, acquire the foundational skills to lead your own on-water adventures. We are offering three clinic dates this summer—May 7-8, June 4-5, July 9-10—with classroom portions on Friday night at Anderson Park in Pleasant Grove, and on-water practicum at Utah Lake State Park on Saturday. Friday night we’ll also have a presentation by guest speaker Sam Braegger of the Utah Lake Commission, discussing the health of the lake, recreation, and conservation opportunities. Cost is $15/scout; leaders are free. Scouts will need to have completed the BSA swim test prior to the clinic. Questions can be directed to [email protected]
