Description
This is weird, but I am trying to connect with a woman whose life I saved.
This was in Jerome Idaho, sometime around the early 1970's before they destroyed the city pool. It used to be on the corner of Buchanan and 2nd I think. I vaguely remember (I was around 10)
So...schooching myself along the side of the pool (I hadn't yet swam in the deep end), but wanted to get close enough to the pretty lifeguard. As I got close, I looked down and saw a body on the edge of the wall and the bottom of the deep end of the pool. From the vantage point of the Lifeguard, she could not see the very corner of the pool. I yelled at the Lifeguard and said that there was someone at the bottom. So while she climbed down the stairs from her perch, I dove down (again never being that deep) and brought her up. She is fine, but I don't know her name, or her children's name, or her grand children's names. I did meet her in the late 80's a the Smoke Shop in Jerome and we talked, yet never got her name.
Times are tough right now, and it would to be nice to help again if I can, and it would be a boost to my own self worth to see that something I did in my life actually mattered.
