New Rochelle, NY— In the span of less than 30 minutes on Sunday evening, New Rochelle police officers responded to three incidents in which victims were assaulted and robbed. In at least two of the cases, the mugging victims were treated for injuries at New Rochelle Montefiore Hospital. The first incident of the night occurred at the 100 block of North Avenue just before 9pm. Officers responded to a crime scene where the victims reported being approached by three assailants described as black males. One of the muggers was said to be approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a red sweater with black sleeves, black pants with white stripes and Jordan sneakers. The other two suspects were in all dark clothing. One of the two victims reported being struck on the head with "an unknown object." The other victim reported being punched by more than one of the suspects. The thieves got away with cash, cellphones and clothing. In the second violent incident of the night, police answered a call to Church Street near the Monroe College campus. Officers arriving on the scene found a male victim who reported being assaulted and robbed by three males who matched the description of the assailants in the mugging just minutes earlier. As in the earlier incident of the night, the victim was treated for injuries at New Rochelle Montefiore Hospital. In the third attack of the night, which occurred just before 9:25pm, once again in the 100 block of North Avenue, a male victim reported being shoved to the ground by two assailants who made off with his iPhone. The phone was later recovered nearby after being damaged and discarded by the thieves. The two suspects in this case were described as wearing all dark clothing. New Rochelle Detectives are asking anyone with information about these incidents to contact New Rochelle Police at 914-654-2300.
