Description
Hi all,
Our pet axolotls laid eggs back in late November, and the juveniles are now getting to a size that they can be re-homed (~2"). We have 3 wild-type (dark/freckled) axolotls, and 1 leucistic (pink) axolotls, and they make for very cute quarantine buddies - we're looking for good owners to re-home them to, with a $10 re-homing fee/axie.
Some fun facts about them:
1) They have the largest genome known to science.
2) They can regrow their limbs (currently they're in the process of growing out their back legs)
3) They have external gills and are entirely aquatic, but if exposed to iodine, they can transform into strictly terrestrial salamanders (but don't do this - it drastically shortens their lifespan).
4) They hunt by sensing electrical currents (i.e. the heartbeat/muscle contractions of their prey)
At this point, you would need 1) frozen blood worms, 2) water conditioner (I use https://www.amazon.com/API-STRESS-Aquarium-Conditioner-16-Ounce/dp/B000255MZG/ref=sr_1_3?crid=OPIY41HR067N&dchild=1&keywords=api+prime&qid=1610399924&s=pet-supplies&sprefix=api+pri%2Cpets%2C440&sr=1-3), 3) a turkey baster, and 4) a couple of large Tupperwares™ for storage and water changes. Eventually you'll need an aquarium that is at least 20 gallons + 10 gallons for each additional adult axolotl).
Please let us know if you're interested - I can't ship them at this age, but curbside pickup is available. Thanks!
