Press release from the City of Colorado Springs: March 5, 2021 The Colorado Springs Fire Department is proud to donate a 1997 HME Becker Type I fire engine to Nuevo Casas Grandes, Mexico, a sister city of Colorado Springs. This is the third fire engine gifted from the CSFD to Nuevo Casas Grandes and surrounding communities through the efforts of Colorado Springs Sister Cities International (CSSCI) and the Colorado Springs Rotary. Fire Chief Christian Ontiveros of Nuevo Casas Grandes and fellow firefighters accepted the engine this week and made the 22 hour drive back home to protect their community. This engine will be placed into service at their station 2 when construction is completed. This press release was produced by the City of Colorado Springs.
