This month, the community is invited back to the museum to view our permanent collection and Shelter in Place art exhibition. TLM is re-opening! We've missed you all so much. Starting March 18th, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., the community is invited back to the Tenderloin Museum. View our permanent collection, discover history's unsung icons and outcasts, and view eclectic work from our Shelter in Place gallery show. The exhibition, which features multi-media work produced by Bay Area artists during lockdown, was originally showcased virtually and in fall of 2020—now, we're thrilled to finally expand it and bring it to life once more in a museum setting featuring artwork by Deirdre Weinberg, Harry Nordlinger, Emerald Klauer, and Darwin Bell, and new work from Patricia Araujo, Rafael Cardenas, and David Enos. We have added extra safety measures to ensure your health and safety during your visit. We have given extra attention to increased cleanliness, frequent cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces, digital touch screens, and audio devices. We have added additional Air Purifiers with high-performance HEPA filters eliminating 99% of all allergens, bacteria, and viruses. Social distancing measures have been put in place with metered ticketing. Plexiglass barriers have been installed at the retail sales and ticketing counter. We offer contactless payment as the preferred method. Please note, all visitors and staff are required to wear facial coverings inside the museum at all times. Masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be provided upon entry.
