Description
LA GRANGE, IL — Ryan Gillingham, La Grange's public works director for more than a dozen years, is leaving his post.
Gillingham joined the village in October 2008, just as the national economy was cratering. He was previously the village engineer in Morton Grove for four years.
At its meeting Monday, the La Grange Village Board is expected to vote on a resolution of appreciation for Gillingham. The resolution states he undertook a number of projects in his time as director, including installation of the village's geographic information system, construction of a new water plant, creation of an inventory and management process for the village's urban forest, and installation of a fiber network throughout the village government's buildings.
"Ryan provided exceptional service to the residents of La Grange through his dedication, empathy and service-oriented approach," the resolution says.
Patch left a message for comment with Gillingham on his reason for leaving.
According to his LinkedIn page, Gillingham received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1997 and a master's degree in public policy and administration in 2007.
