PHILADELPHIA — A truck crash hindered traffic and spilled onions on the Ben Franklin Bridge Monday, according to officials and news reports.
The Delaware River Port Authority said a tractor trailer crashed at about 11 a.m. on the downside of the bridge into Philadelphia.
Action News reports the truck overturned and spilled onions across the road and the driver had to be pulled from the truck.
The driver is in stable condition, according to NBC10.
The port authority is urging drivers to use the Walt Whitman or Betsy Ross brides as the alternate route to Philadelphia as delays are expected on the bridge going into the city.
There is no word on when the crash will be cleared.
