2 Killed In Weekend Crash In Lindenhurst

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Two men are dead after a car ran into a guardrail on Stearns School Road in Lindenhurst Saturday night, authorities said. The 2009 Audi TTS was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control while heading west on Stearns School Road east of Route 45 in Lindenhurst at about 9:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. The driver, a 23-year-old Waukegan man, and a passenger, a 23-year-old Hainesville man, were both taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center where they were later pronounced dead. The Hainesville man was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle, according to the news release. The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
