GENEVA, IL — More than 100 parents and students are set to continue their protest Monday against Geneva District 304's decision to have all students learn remotely every Friday for the rest of the school year. Geneva Parents United for Students will gather ahead of the school board's meeting Monday night for its fifth demonstration to urge officials to reconsider their decision, according to a news release. The group is scheduled to picket at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Coultrap Educational Services Building, 227 N. 4th St. The school board's meeting starts at 7 p.m. 100K Coronavirus Vaccines Administered In Kane County Geneva District 304 offered in-person learning five days a week for much of the 2020-21 school year, with just four full-remote learning days in the first four months of the academic year, according to the district's calendar. The District 304 board voted Jan. 11 to only offer remote learning to students each Friday through the end of May, meaning there now are four full-remote learning days each month. There were eight active cases of the coronavirus Friday among students and staff in Geneva 304, according to the district's dashboard. There was one active case at Geneva High School, four cases within Geneva's two middle schools and three cases at the elementary level.
