MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A new display in the main gallery of the Hennepin History Museum is shining light on the contributions of health care workers throughout history. According to the museum's website, the exhibition, titled "Local Heroes," highlights the work of healers and caretakers in Hennepin County and explores innovation and dedication in the world of health care. While the museum is open to the public, the exhibit has also been made available in a virtual format. The entire exhibit, including descriptions and photos of each artifact, can be seen online. The exhibits on display include an image of Hennepin County's first hospital and information about the first Black doctor in Minneapolis, Dr. Robert Sirelle Brown, who received his medical degree in 1895. The exhibit will be on display through August 2021, according to the museum's website.
