ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a domestic disturbance near a restaurant, a mask dispute, a wallet theft, check fraud, a neighborhood nuisance and driving violations. Here is information from police reports: Domestic Near Restaurant Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 11 p.m. Saturday near Buffalo Wild Wings, 149 N. York St. The victim said the suspect grabbed her and tried to pull her into his car. The suspect said the victim called him for a ride home and then refused to leave with him. The victim said she was not injured and did not wish to pursue charges. Mask dispute A person entering Whole Foods Market, 215 S. Route 83, about 8:30 p.m. Saturday was told by an employee to wear a face mask. The person then struck the employee's face shield, causing it to fall off the employee's head. The person then threatened the employee and left. Officers could not find the suspect. An investigation is pending. Wallet theft A man told police that he left his black bi-fold wallet unattended at 2 p.m. Thursday in a bathroom at DuPage Medical Group, 152 N. Addison Ave. The victim later discovered five unauthorized transactions on his credit card account. A suspect was later contacted and admitted to the theft. Charges are pending. Check fraud A resident in the 200 block of West Vallette Street mailed a check Feb. 27 and later learned it was altered and cashed. The case is pending an investigation. Nuisance A chronic nuisance warning was issued about 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of North Maple Avenue. Fugitive An officer saw a car that was involved in a burglary in Addison. The sighting was about 2 a.m. Friday. The driver sped away, last seen heading east on Interstate 290. Driving violations Anthony Johnson, 36, of Chicago, was cited about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at North and West on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and tinted windows. He was released on bond. Juan D. Aguilar-Sanchez, 38, of Melrose Park, was cited about 5 a.m. Friday at Lake and Grand on charges of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lighting. He was released on bond. Nancy Gomez, 44, of Berwyn, was cited about 9 a.m. Friday at York and Grand on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle while using a phone. She was released on bond. Cesar Santos-Salazar, 34, of Melrose Park, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Friday at Grand and Old Grand on charges of driving with a suspended license and disobeying a traffic control signal (two counts). He was released on bond. Andrian L. Rushin, 31, of Chicago, was cited shortly after midnight Saturday in the 100 block of North York on a charge of possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. The person was released on bond. Cirilo Landa, 35, of Chicago, was cited about 8:30 a.m. Saturday at York and North on charges of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, unlawful use of a phone and failure to wear a seat belt. He was released on bond. Michelle Vazquez, 25, of Rosemont, was cited about 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Larch and North on charges of possession of marijuana by a driver and tinted windows. She was released on bond. Christopher Diego, 20, of Northlake, was cited about 3 a.m. Sunday at Grand and Lake on charges of driving with a suspended license, no valid registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
