Description
Performing routine maintenance including, but not limited to carpentry, floor repair, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall repair, repair of wall covering materials and surface coatings. Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus. Performing routine maintenance and general carpentry work on multiple locations throughout the inner city. Analyzing situations and taking appropriate action to maintain established maintenance standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• May function as a lead worker for a crew of two or more regular employees and/or student workers executing a maintenance task or performing project work.
• Select and transport appropriate materials, tools and equipment to work location.
• Knowledge of appropriate use of hand and power tools.
• Maintain tools and equipment required in the execution of routine maintenance duties.
• May be asked to help with snow shoveling and salting.
• Monthly inspections of fire extinguishers/properties.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Job requires the ability to stand, climb stairs, bend and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must possess the ability to climb ladders and work in confined locations.
• Must have the ability to respond to emergency situations during scheduled and non-scheduled hours.
• Must work within established safety guidelines.
Applicants will need to provide their own tools and have a valid driver’s license.
Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but may vary.
Rotating “on call” schedule will also apply.
