The virus is still widespread, with several cases of the UK and South African variant detected in our county. In Alameda County, there have been 81,255 cases and 1,289 deaths. Statewide, we are approaching 3.5 million cases and 54,124 deaths. In the U.S. we have had almost 29 million cases and 524,997 deaths. And worldwide, there have been more than 116 million cases and more than 2.5 million deaths.
