Requirements: • Valid driver’s license (Insurable driving record, no DUI’s or reckless driving in the past 5 years) • 2-3 years of irrigation experience • Irrigation install and repair experience • Ability to read an irrigation plan • Irrigation trouble shooting ability • Irrigation controller programming • Low voltage wiring experience • Familiar with 2 wire, and multi-strand irrigation systems • Experience finding and repairing irrigation leaks • Strong problem solving skills • Strong ability to multitask and prioritize • Ability to work well alone and with others • Ability to take direction • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions • Punctual and dependable • Must be available to work overtime and occasional weekends • Ability to lift, push, or pull 75lbs • Proficiency with trencher (Ditchwitch) • Proficient at keeping records • Must be able to provide great customer service while on job sites • Drug free • Alcohol free while at work • Bilingual (not required, but preferred) Job Duties and Description: • Reports to Maintenance Manager • Operates a variety of irrigation clocks • Uses problem solving skills to repair hydraulic and electrical irrigation problems • Uses multimeter and other electronic diagnostic equipment to test irrigation wiring • Work with an Irrigation crew to complete jobs correctly, efficiently, timely and safely • Diagnose and repair irrigation system components • Records parts and time used on jobs • Sprinkler turn on and blow outs • Frequently repairs PVC pipe, poly pipe, and drip tubes • Ability to select and replace correct irrigation heads and nozzles • Adjusts sprinklers to reduce water waste and ensure good coverage • Ability to quickly shut off water in the case of a break • Always uses correct PPE for the job • Works carefully around electricity ensuring safety • Excellent attention to detail • Deadline oriented • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment • Always requests utility locates prior to excavation if needed • Documents all work performed and all parts used • Regularly digs small holes to repair underground irrigation • Clearly marks and “closes off” any open holes • May operate mini excavator, trencher, and skid steer on occasion • Responsible for general upkeep and cleanliness of assigned company vehicles • Must be able to follow proper safety precautions and procedures
