We got Ayla at the shelter, last year. She is two. We fell in love with her sweetness and super soft coat. While Ayla is a great dog, she needs more activity than my kids are willing to give her. She goes to the dog park, 3x a week and she runs her little heart out. This girl won’t chase a ball, but she loves to chase the dogs who do. She is fast. When she isn’t living her best life at the park, she is a lazy lump or agitated at the window by squirrels and cats. She spends a few hours on the runner each day and is in her crate for whenever we leave the house. (Up to 5 hours on a long day.) She is a serious flight risk, gunning for neighborhood cats. She will grab any food left out and gobbles her own food in seconds.
This is heart breaking for me to re-home a loved dog that our family committed to caring for, but I’ve been seeing concerning behaviors towards her from my child with special needs.
I’d love to find a home that Ayla can thrive in.
