We strive every day to pave the way for innovation in our industry and embody our core values of Quality, Safety, Integrity, Partnering, and the Pursuit of Excellence.” Traffic Control Technician sets-up City, County or Residential roadways within the regulations of Federal law and City code to ensure the safety of all employees, automobiles, pedestrians and bicyclist traffic being exposed to any danger during the duration of a project. Job Responsibilities • Sets-up, maintains and removes temporary work-zone: warning signs, Traffic cones, Barricades, Arrow board or variable message boards, and other Safety equipment, as necessary • Ability to comply with road signs, complete all paperwork and knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations • Conduct a pre-trip of vehicle • Loading of required Safety equipment onto vehicle • Sets-up in accordance with Traffic Control plans • Take-down or Pick-up lane closures • Re-set or Set-up daily • Redirect automobiles, pedestrians, and bicycle traffic for workers and/or survey crews • Operates vehicles to transport materials and equipment to job site in safety • Check work zone throughout shift to ensure Safety equipment are still in their proper location • Takes direction from the Foreman, Superintendent, and Inspector, as it relates to the project · May work independently or part of a Traffic Control team • General maintenance of equipment and coordinates repairs with Maintenance Shop • Keep vehicle clean and orderly and inform management of any safety or vehicle problems • Capable of handling a stressful and busy work environment • Assist with project assignments not related to Traffic Control • Perform other duties as required and assigned Qualifications: · High School Diploma/G.E.D. and /orBasic reading, writing and math skills · 1 -2 years of experience in traffic control set ups is a plus · 1 year or less experience operating delivery vehicles · Must possess or able to obtain a Medical card · Must have some mechanical background/experience · ATSSA Certification - Worksite Traffic Technician or Supervisor (preferred) or ability to obtain · Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus · Current Arizona Driver’s License with a clean driving record in accordance to company policy · Successfully pass a drug test · Knowledge basis of state and local roadways · Knowledge of safety procedures for securing and transporting cargo is essential · Willing and able to travel throughout the state as projects require, with occasional overnight stay · Must be able to work nights/weekends as project demands · Willing and able to work on the ground with crew, when required Physical Demands · 100% outdoor environment, exposed to extreme heat and weather conditions · Regularly required to lift to 50 lbs. · Standing and walking up to 90% of the day What Benefits does ViaSun Corporation have for you! • You are joining an Awesome Team with an Excellent work Environment • Health Benefits: • Medical • Vision • Dental • Life Insurance - Employee, Spouse and Child • Short-term & Long-term Disability Insurance • Legal Shield & Id Shield • Colonial Benefits – Hospital, Accidental and Critical Illness • Basic Will (100% paid with 1 year of Service) • 401K with company match • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) • Annual Bonus • Appreciation Events • Anniversary Rewards • Paid Holidays • Paid Time off (PTO) Come join our Team!
