Family in search of family pup

We are a family of 4 no young children one cat and a bird looking for a friendly, cuddly, protective pup. It would be great if it’s already house trained but not required. Size isn’t an issue but unfortunately can’t be a pit. A little back round about us. We have fostered (unofficially 100+ dogs) over the last 16 years. Most have been some sort of pit mix which we have grown to love but where we are we can’t have them. Our experience with dogs are dobies, Shepard’s, huskies, malamutes, aussies, labs and Newfoundland’s and of course American staffordahire (pit). We are lost without our 4 legged babies and haven’t found any that don’t have ridiculous rehoming fees or are not what are advertised.
