Description
Mindfulness and Meditation - the practice of BEING human By nature we are humanbeings. However, many days it can feel like we are humandoings. This is an invitation to press pause. Please join me throughout the month of April for community Mindfulness & Meditation where we will practice building awareness, strengthening concentration, and cultivating equanimity. This will be a time to give intentional focus to your well-being and resilience. Mindfulness is the mental exercise of paying attention on purpose. Meditation is one of the ways we strengthen a healthy mind. You can think of this offering as a "gym" for your embodied brain. Decades of scientific research has shown us that mindfulness and meditation are extremely beneficial to our well-being. These benefits include improved concentration, reduced anxiety, heightened immune response, increased happiness, and less emotional reactivity. This class will also include opportunity for mindful/integrative movement to strengthen the connection between body and mind. Whether you are a newbie or a seasoned practitioner, all are welcome! Mindfulness and Meditation are most beneficial when you make it a repeated practice - come to one, come to all! This group will be offered freely as a generosity-based model in which participants give what they can when they can. I am thrilled to partner with Hope Street Ministry with proceeds benefiting their Shechem project. I have had the privilege of being a part of the "greenhouse for people" for several years, facilitating a Meditation & Prayer class to members. I share with you what I share with my friends at 26th and Capital - it is my hope that this practice helps you deepen embodied awareness, meaning and connection.
