Landscape Maintenance, Greenhouse & Flower Farm Worker
Jobs
#1 9th Street Island Drive, Livingston MT
Description
Heather’s Garden Services is seeking a reliable, hard-working individual to assist with our landscape and floral endeavors. The position would have several roles over the course of the season -- performing landscape maintenance for our established clients, assisting in smaller-scale landscape installations, and helping in our greenhouses & on our flower farm. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with good attention to detail and a positive attitude. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs and be comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions. A knowledge of plants is a plus, but not necessary. Must also have a valid driver's license. Landscape maintenance may include weeding, mulching, perennial bed care, some mowing of wildflower meadow seedings, and caring for container plantings. Greenhouse duties include watering, deadheading, accepting plant deliveries, and working our retail operation some weekends from Mother’s Day until the end of June. Weekend retail help entails cashing out customers, helping carry flowers/soil/products to vehicles, caring for plants & working in the cut flower garden if it’s slow. Flower farm duties may include seeding, composting, planting, harvesting, weeding, digging beds, tilling and working Farmer’s Market or pop-up flower bars. Heather’s Garden Service is a plant-centric operation that specializes in keeping beautifully-designed landscapes gorgeous all season long for our clients. We enjoy taking on a few select design/installs per year, and work primarily in Paradise Valley, the Shields Valley and Livingston. We run two greenhouses in Livingston on the Yellowstone River where we grow perennials and annuals for our jobs and for retail sale, and we have a large clientele for whom we create custom annual container arrangements. We also have a large cutting garden on the property and are initiating a local cut-flower operation. Please note that this seasonal position (April through October) involves different pay grades depending on the work performed. Landscape maintenance/installation hourly wage is $16-$18/hour DOE, and farm/greenhouse hourly wage is $13/hr. You must be able to mix up your hours as needed for our season, our aim is to split the two equally. This position would give you a wide array of experience working with plants and flowers, and would offer flexibility to take time off for summer Montana fun!
