Property duties: Shovel snow. clean spaces that are vacant or common area hallway, nothing really big or very often as commercial spaces aren't vacant very often. Occasionally carry large plastic bins of holiday decor up and down stairs from basement to second floor, approx. 37 steps. Some can weigh as much as 50 lbs, possibly more now and then. Blow leaves off flat roof. Sweep common areas and stairs outside, clean sidewalks, chop ice from street drains. Refill bird feeders weekly. Wash windows. Possibly build or repair small furniture items or vintage items. Run errands to Ace Hardware, Home Depot or Lowes, for lumber, electrical parts, you name it. Must have a valid driving license and own vehicle. Some things we've done in the last year or so. Assist in a remodel of two spaces, paint, nail setting, putty, painting of moldings, construction clean up. Strip wax from floors, not major, floors are only 3 years old. Set up 12' tall skeleton for Halloween. Hang Christmas lights on the 2 story building and take down. Haul Christmas decor from the basement and set up as well as return to the basement. Set up patio umbrella. Carry patio table with help up to the roof deck which is my patio. Plant flowers and herbs in pots and sell at the Farmers Market, won't sell again as we have a new tenant that will have a plant shop. Move items to storage after a fire, then return to the basement, they now need to be moved again. Hang new fire extinguishers. Do a lot of clean up after the fire and haul to the dump. Set up temporary hair and nail salon for tenant affected by the fire. Camp or cabin at Cultus lake for several weeks, needed help with set up trailer packing, boat launching. Install new Security cameras. Hang shelving. Haul 30 boxes of books and other assorted items to the new reference library / studio. I collect vintage items and love to transform them or repair them. Remove non working HVAC from the flat roof. Remove parts that no longer worked and reinstalled. Don't know what to call this job other than personal assistant/ Laborer/ Maintenance. You would be working for a 59 year old woman who has a good general knowledge of construction, woodworking and has run her own business's for over 35 years. Has lived in Bend for 35 years. I've operated several very successful retail stores, was raised by parents who owned an unfinished furniture mfg. shop, laundromat, and were always investigating other types of business's, I've built furniture and sold it, done furniture repair, owned a furniture store that was 9,000 square feet with a 5,000 square foot warehouse, I loved the gift business. I've remodeled 1,000's of square feet of Historic buildings in Bend, Moved and remodeled Trailer homes, and a couple of houses. Degree in Fine Art. I used to do a lot of the work myself, including removing walls, cutting out ceiling joists, scraping 1.5" of flooring off of old wood floors and restoring them, I pounded plaster off of old brick walls. I just can't do this type of work anymore and don't really do heavy duty remodels anymore as we have done this already in the building. Items are more maintenance now.
