Position: Lead Carpenter/Tradesmen Overview: Board and Beam Co. is a construction company that focuses on remodels, renovations, new builds, and outdoor projects such as decks, pergolas and fences. Position Summary: This is an on-call basis position. The scope of work is to work independently or lead on the job site to get jobs done in an effective, timely manner. Responsibilities to name a few important ones include: • Proficient with reading blueprints • Alterations to framework • Proficient with flooring installation • Siding and exterior trim • Composite decking and deck framing • Operate equipment – scissor lift, man lift, or forklift. • Tile installation • Spraying texture • Framing of interior walls • Interior trim installation • Caulking • Light concrete work • Knowledge in all aspects of construction Character Traits: • A positive and optimistic attitude • Drive for results and excellence with strong initiative and follow through • Professional in conduct and has a clean appearance • Leadership capability • Ability to work independently • Highly collaborative work style • Production oriented Qualifications and Technical Skills • Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in carpentry. • Excellent communication skills • Must have reliable transportation • Must own all your own tools – including but not limited to paint sprayer, texture sprayer, tile cutter, chop saw, table saw, track saw and nail guns for all aspects of carpentry Working Conditions: • Hours: Part-Time, on Call basis, and possibly Full-time role • Location: Whatcom county • Compensation: DOE • Travel: Some travel required
