Red's Blues is a blues revue founded in July 2012, that keeps the blues alive with traditional blues, Chicago shuffles, New Orleans-delta, and West Coast blues, both acoustic and electric. They perform as a three, four and five-piece band, and include a lot of original Americana/roots music in their repertoire. The band has released two critically-acclaimed CDs: Red's Blues (2014), and You Knock Me Out (2017). "Beth Reid-Grigsby's confident alto vocals are breezy and unaffected by histrionics. In addition to blues, the influence of country and jazz is clearly discernible in her laid-back style." - Blues Music Magazine "Red's Blues has a finger-poppin' attitude - straight outta the golden years when blues, R&B and swing all meshed together and dance floors every night were filled with snake hips and slow drags. Beth, with her sensual, southern voice and classy behind-the-beat phrasing, finds perfect rhythmic support in bass player and husband, RW." - M. Giles, Swell Productions RW and Beth’s guitar player is Doug Crumpacker, and Tim Wilbur is on drums. The four make up the core of Red’s Blues Band. Doug, Tim and RW are all members of the Sacramento Blues Hall of Fame. RW is also a BMA winner. Red’s Blues was established in 2012, but all are veteran musicians. This year, Red’s Blues was nominated for a SAMMIE award for best blues band in the Sacramento region, as well as nominated by the Northern California Entertainers Music Awards for best blues band in Northern California. For this performance they will be joined by Sid Morris on piano. A SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE BACK ROOM Thank you for your interest in this show. It is part of our outdoor concert series, which is very different in atmosphere and logistics from our indoor shows. We did this in October, so we have a bit of experience at this point. Although our collective COVID restrictions are coming closer and closer to an end, and more and more vaccinated folks are now able to relax with each other mask-free, we cannot yet treat our public spaces in that way - not even outdoors - and we therefore want to be elaborately and redundantly safe in our procedures. So, masks will be required (except for singers on stage) and seats will be properly distanced. Audience members are welcome to un-distance the seats of those with whom you would otherwise be mask-less with - but you must keep your masks on. The seats will be standard folding chairs - no comfy couches this time, but they will be comfortably shaded. Only 60 tickets will be sold, and we expect all or most of them to be bought in advance. (Reimbursement for cancellation is guaranteed with 24-hour notice, and rain may cause a cancellation from our end). Please keep in mind that late afternoons can be chillier than expected, even on a warm spring day, especially when sitting still, so bring an extra layer! Cups of water will be available, but it might be a good idea to bring your own drinks/snacks. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING LIVE MUSIC! Tickets are $20 general admission, $15 for students, teachers and essential workers. Children under 12 are free. We strongly encourage you to purchase your tickets in advance, which are available at the link below, or you may pay at the door the day of the show. Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash only at the door (ATMs are nearby). The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own adult beverage with no additional corkage fee. If you need more information or have any questions, please call us: #510-381-1997. Thank you for your support!
