A Runners workshop with Clinical Somatic Educator Janet Wood of Movement Integration (MI)Studio. Your feet are your foundation. They must be able to properly support your entire body, allowing you to stand, walk, run, and jump. They transfer force from the ground through the ankle, leg, hip, pelvis and spine. Everyone may experience some sort of structural difficulty in their life, many of which start in the feet. Faulty movement patterns can accumulate into habitually tight muscles resulting in chronic pain, postural imbalances and poor running and walking techniques. Lukes Locker Running and Fitness at Clearfork in Fort Worth Texas is hosting Janet Wood for an educational and experiential Somatic exploration of the foot. This workshop will include : The anatomy and movement of the foot in relation to the hip, knee, pelvis and lower backRelease techniques for the foot, hips and lower backHow Somatic movement can release chronic painCome and learn a series of release techniques and mobility drills to free your feet and release your hips for easier and more efficient pain free running, walking and daily living. Bring your trainers and wear comfortable clothes to sit on a mat and run in. We will start and finish with a short running or walking assessment and exploration. Light snacks and water will be provided.
