2021 Passover Celebration with the HFF DFW Family. We only have a limited amount of space / tickets available so they are non-refundable! Passover Preparation This is the most exciting time of the year. The historic implications of the day are bigger than life itself. The story of our forefathers’ deliverance is both historic and classic. It covers so many areas of our lives both physical and spiritual. It is also a Feast that addresses the individual Israelite (Believer) from a personal perspective and then goes on to call us not only to our own personal deliverance, but to embrace the deep and far reaching implications of our lives as “Free Beings” under a Divine and Sovereign hand. As we grow in the wisdom of this sacred time we learn of its foundational principals that will be passed down to our future generations. By choosing, embracing and sharing these timeless historical and spiritual commandments, we thus transform our witness from light to bright light. By walking this time out with compassion we impact our unspoken testimony as the nations look on beholding our lifestyle, thoughts, speech and deeds. This Feast also makes us aware of the power that the Eternal Covenant has in each of our lives. “You shall keep this as a statute forever, through your generations.” – Ex 12:14. This places us in the center of Hebraic thought. When one who is truly purchased by the Blood and Water of The Covenant, they are able to grasp “Spirit and Truth” by way of faith, experience true deliverance, restoration and freedom. The LAMB of God is the “The Way” that Yahweh chooses to bring deliverance to His people. Our forefathers were well acquainted with the sacrifice of the LAMB as God demonstrated the process of sacrifice Himself in the Garden of Eden. – Genesis 3:21. He then later brings this ancient and spiritual reminder to life as he gives instructions to our forefathers concerning the sacrifice of the LAMB. 3. Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. 4. If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat. 5. The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. 6. Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. 7. Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs. 8. That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast. 9. Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and internal organs. 10. Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it. 11. This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover. - Exodus 12:3-11 This pattern continues when the Aleph Tav (The WORD of GOD) comes to earth in the flesh –John 1:29. Of course one of the most beautiful things about the Word is His ability to convey the message of deliverance through His physical life. But not only is He THE LAMB that lays down His life; He is also the Shepherd that guides His people in the ways of eternal obedience. THE LAMB OF GOD 1. Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3. But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” 6. Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7. He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8. And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. 9. And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. 10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."- Revelation 5: 1-9 THE LAMB, OUR SHEPHERD 1. “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6. Yashua used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them. 7. Therefore Yashua said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. 11. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14. I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15. Just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”- John 10:1-18 We choose, not according to mans mandate, but according to Yahweh’s heavenly mandate to observe the Feast of Passover remembering that Yashua The LAMB of GOD is our Passover LAMB; 6. Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? 7. Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Messiah, our Passover LAMB has been sacrificed. 8. Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. - 1 Corinthians 5:6-8 We who have awakened from our spiritual slumber are coming back to the Foundations of our Faith, are turning back to our Fathers ways, are delighted to turn away from the ways that have displeased our Father, and with full confidence walk through the waters of redemption (Sea of Reeds) and into life, spiritual regeneration and renewal. Spring Cleaning This truly begins when we take up a box and broom and begin removing all of the leavening (things that rise) out of our homes and possessions. This is an important part of the Passover. For years, we have marveled at how many things are stored in our cupboard and pantries that contain yeast. Sometimes wondering, when or why did I buy that? The practice of moving the leavening is a critical part of the Passover and should be done as a family event. The children (if you have children) should be engaged in the removal of leavening from the home. The frozen bread as well as toaster based bread crumbs are not only fun to discuss from a teaching point at the table but are also necessary to remove if we are to receive the inflow of blessings that our Father has prepared for us. The physical/The Spiritual This cleaning is not just for cleaning sake but serves as a reminder that we all should beware of the leavening that can build up in our hearts and lives. This Feast is an annual time of reflection that is a true reminder of Yahweh’s mercy. It is a merciful God that puts in place a way for His children to draw close to Him through the process of Pesach (Hebrew for Passover). There are many lessons that you are probably seeing through this process I am sure. Take the time to do the cleaning and removing of the heart and mind. As mentioned by Paul in 1 Corinthians 5, there were believers that were engaging in sexual sins within the “circumcision”. In other words, the community of Faith, from the outside looked as if they had it all together and probably had the best looking Passover Seders but had the unleavened heart conditions of malice and wickedness. My suggestion, we all should do the necessary cleaning both physically and spiritually so that we can enter into this time honoring the LAMB and not defiling His work in our lives and the lives of others. Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread are amazingly documented by some wonderful teachers. The book, The Feasts of Adonai by our friend Valerie Moody is a great place to get your feet wet concerning the Feasts. Also, Israel’s Feasts and Their Fullness – Batya Wootten are two of my favorites. Most believers today are standing in need of major breakthroughs in their lives. Some are looking to fancy teachers, greater knowledge of the end times, and in some cases even placing the creation over the creator unknowingly (God forbid). The recipe for explosive abundant growth and blessings beyond our scope of understanding is clear… Turn back to our Father and His ways and He will restore us! This is the commitment that our All Creator Covenant God has made with His people. If we choose to walk in His ways, He will pour out the blessings of abundance that are evident through His blemish free track record of fulfilling all of His promises. In short, if we do our part, He’s got the rest. He has taken care of the most important part of Pesach. He has, just like in the Garden of Eden, sacrificed the perfect spot free LAMB for us! All we have to do is to enter into the doors of His promises. May you fully experience the Deliverance that is abundantly available through the promises of Messiah during this time!
