Essential Gardeners LLC, is a family owned and operated Seattle based gardening company. Everyone at our company is passionate about gardening, has a positive attitude and is able to work well together as a team. We have been in business 20 years and have long list of gardens we care for regularly in the Seattle area. Our focus is fine garden maintenance with some plant installations and small scale construction. Tasks include pruning, weeding, mulching, plant health care and general maintenance. We work year-round in all kinds of weather. The positions are physically active and require bending, kneeling, digging and lifting. While we do not provide lawn care services, we do use blowers, hedge trimmers, ladders etc. Gardening Apprentice We are seeking someone who is looking for a new career opportunity and likes the idea of working outdoors with plants on a small team. Many of the aspects of the work day are the same: This position is also year-round and physical. You must be able to work well on a team and have good communication skills. Ability to take direction and stay on task is also a must. You will also be required to keep notes of your tasks and time spent. Must be able to get to the job site or meeting spot on time. Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly. No limiting preexisting injuries. Must have valid Driver's License and clean driving record. PAY - depending on experience Experienced horticulturalist We are looking for someone to manage client gardens on a regular basis. This includes seeing what is needed both for the current visit and future visits, have time management skills, be able to take reliable notes, and have good communication skills for working with both the clients and gardening team members. Being passionate about the work is a must. Must have at least three years of experience in the garden industry. Must have plant ID skills both for common Pacific NW landscape plants as well as good weed ID skills. This includes how to best care for the landscape plants and how to best manage the removal of weeds. Have a background in organic care of gardens and have experience researching pest and disease issues and be familiar with organic management methods. While most of our work is done in teams - our team leads need to be able to work alone, be able to discern what is time sensitive and stay on task. Must be able to get to the job site or meeting spot on time. Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly. No limiting preexisting injuries. Must have valid Driver's License, a clean driving record, and be skilled at driving a work pick-up truck. PAY - depending on experience There is room for growth with our company in both positions and we recognize increases in knowledge and responsibility with advancement.
