Read (or let us do a table read! ❤️❤️❤️) 10 minutes / pages of your screenplay and get feedback to help you during self-revisions. Southern Fried Writers is a Meetup group (Meetup.com/Writerwerx) that meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday night at Manuel's Tavern. We are open to screenwriters, novelists, memoirists, poets, and just about any other genre you can think of (including erotica, Christian inspirational, splatterpunk, children's books, etc.). We read our pieces aloud. If you would like written feedback to take home with you, please bring copies of your piece for us to write on. Five printed copies is usually enough to cover everyone (we can share, if needed), but pay attention to the Meetup RSVPs if you're not sure. We read in the order of arrival (the first person there reads first, the second person to arrive reads second, and so on). HOW TO FIND US Across the street from Manuel's is a gas station and a laundromat. Next to the laundromat, there is parking for Manuel's. Grab a spot and cross the street toward the new condos, the take a right and cross the street over to Manuel's. Once inside the door, take an immediate left into the main dining area. Look to your right and you'll see huge, red curtains and a sign on the wall that says 'Eagle's Nest.' We'll be behind the curtain. If you get turned around, just ask any server where to go.
