PARRISH, FL — The Parrish Heritage Day Parade & Festival set for Saturday have been rescheduled for March 20 because of forecasted inclement weather, according to a Facebook post from the Parrish Civic Association, which organizes the annual event. "As of today March 5th, thunderstorms, high winds, and cold temperatures are predicted to start in the am March 6th and continue throughout the day. For the safety and comfort of our vendors, performers, parade participants, and festival attendees we are rescheduling the Parrish Heritage Parade and Festival to March 20th. Same time, the same location," the post said. According to a Facebook post from Commissioner Carol Whitmore, other than the new date, everything about the event will remain the same. The parade will kick off at the Parrish United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. on the rain date. The festival, which starts at 11 a.m., takes place at Parrish Community High School at 7505 Fort Hamer Road in Parris.
