Lets face it. After the past year, musicians are at the top of the list of hardest hit industries. Especially musicians that perform their own original material. Who is willing to take a risk on us? Not many, if any at all? It seems the only chance we have is to take a risk on ourselves. Don't you miss performing LIVE??? I'm proposing a musicians co-op into our own private nightclub. A place where we know we have guarunteed gigs. A place big enough to hire national acts. (2k cap.) A place big enough to have an indoor/enclosed smoking section, but can still see & hear the live bands. A warehouse. Not concerned about a liquor license, they're way too expensive any way. Plus the insurance rates go sky high when you have a liquor license. This would be a B.Y.O.B. Sure you could sell alcohol from time to time with a 1 day or 2 day permit. Ya know, when the national acts come in. 10 people (or 10 bands) could join together with as little as $1k a piece to start it up. It'd be cheaper per person if a whole band joined. What are you gonna do with your next stimulus check? Why not invest in something you could benefit from? The best people to invest in us, is us. What genre? I'd try both rock and country. Is there even 1 original rock&country music nightclub in Pinellas County? And don't say the ole State Theatre cause all I see going in there is cover bands. Which is cool, nothing against cover bands. This is a TOTALLY OPEN invitation. When not in use, it could be used for video shoots, rehearsal, swap meets, art displays, banquets, weddings, you name it. It would be ours to do with as we please. Whatta ya think? I know of a perfect place. It's right on 19. Very huge parking lot. Huge sign out front. Easily fit 2k people. Easily fit a very big stage. It's been sitting empty all year. I'd do it myself, but I'm only 1 person. BUT, I'd be willing to put up my stimulus check to make this happen. Anybody else interested in forming a musicians co-op, to create their own private nightclub?
