Description
We're looking for a male lead singer with a good tenor range who love all things Yacht Rock! We're a group of adults who grew up on this stuff and consider Yacht Rock to be some of the BEST music ever recorded! :) There were a lot of great soft Rock artists with the best session players in the late 70's and early 80's...it was a golden era for music!
We currently have two lead female singers (one of whom plays main keys), guitarist, bassist and drummer. We're just missing a male singer to complete the line-up. Our female vocalists are stellar!
We're a new band, though we're all long-time friends. Most of us are music directors or musicians for local churches. We're all Christians, but this is NOT a Christian Rock band. We're doing all secular tunes here.
We have a gig coming up on March 21st and we typically meet for rehearsal on Thursday evenings. We don't foresee meeting every week for rehearsal, but while we're learning the tunes, we are meeting regularly for now. No need to worry about the gig on the 21st due to the lack of notice, unless you feel ready for it.
Though, we will gig occasionally, our primary concern is not the money. It's about having fun with fun people who just have a passion for all things Yacht Rock.
We rehearse on the southwest side of town in the Litchfield Park area, very close to the The Wigwam Resort.
If you're interested, please reply with links or mp3's of your singing.
So, if you're into Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Toto, Hall & Oats, Christopher Cross, George Benson, Steely Dan, etc. etc.. and you possess some great vocal chops, decent keyboard chops and carry no baggage, give me a shout!!
Please note: Again, please send us examples of your vocal abelites. If we like what we hear, we will respond. If not, please don't take offense, we are looking for that certain somebody.
Thanks!
Jay
