I’m a 36 year old transgender woman, been playing guitar for literal decades, looking to record and play live for kicks and as a release. Music should be fun, and fun should be taken seriously. I have decent equipment, my own transportation, and can stick to a regular rehearsal schedule. I work most days to improve my playing somehow, mostly focusing on good tone and timing/feel. Open to all styles, but I guess garage/punk/art rock would be the best fit. I want to give singing a try, but might bail on the idea, especially if you’re a good singer. I have song ideas and lyrics, but would feel best collaborating on new ideas together. Also down to join your band if you need a guitarist. I have an endless list of influences and favorites: Thee Oh Sees, Talking Heads, Minutemen, The Slits, Love and Rockets, Dinosaur Jr, Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, Pixies, The Replacements, The Stooges, Fugazi…I dig electric guitars, melodies, layers, structure, surrealism, melancholy, symbolism, macabre humor. You should be cool with LGBT issues, and comfortable around trans folk in particular, but I’m not righteous or preachy about it. It’s a small, yet important part of my identity. Don’t be a jerk and we’ll get along. Age/gender/sexual orientation/hairstyle really unimportant. Fellow Weirdos and queers encouraged though.
