Okay so this is probably a long shot to find the owner but its worth a try. I recently bought an iPhone 6 Plus 1522 Silver from a thrift store located in San Diego CA that has an online auction. When it came in the mail today via FedEx, I opened it up and started to set it up. Turns out that it has an activation lock!!! So its unusable which is super frustrating and surprising that they would sell it. Plus I paid good money for that thing which is even more frustrating. I have contacted the store via online order email to report this but its a weekend so I probably won't hear back till Monday. I kept doing research and found that the IMEI can be looked up so I looked it up, turns out its been reported lost or even possibly stolen, which makes me even more sick!!! I don't live in the area to go to that store and speak to someone in person, so what do I do? I thought I'd look on San Diego Craigslist: Lost & Found to see if anyone lost one! I saw nothing. Plus this is a major thrift store so they probably get shipments in from all over the country along with local donations, so the person that this phone belongs to may never see this or even live in San Diego! Plus its an old model phone, so they may have given up. Anyway, I just hope to find the owner. The whole thing is ridiculous but maybe I bought it for a reason-to find its owner!!! I wish Apple made a way to contact the owner if found but they won't help. I will also try and call the carrier to see what to do. Anyway, I hope the owner reads this :) Worth a shot!!!
