Matunuck Oyster Farm- South Kingstown, RI- is seeking full time, year-round Oyster Farmers beginning in April. Matunuck Oyster Farm is located in Potter Pond in South Kingstown and is dedicated to producing the highest quality product possible. Our farmers are responsible for building oyster grow out gear, working grow out bags, operating the tumbler, harvesting, culling, and bagging oysters. Assist with farm organization and clean up as directed by Oyster Farm Manager. Must be comfortable on the water and able to work in all weather conditions. Must report to work on time and be dependable. Employees are required to maintain proper conduct including being respectful of noise level, and the homeowners that surround the farm. Prior experience in agriculture or working on the water is preferred. Boat handling experience is preferred, but not required. Must be willing to learn safe boat handling skills, including obtaining RI boating safety certificate. We are looking for those that work independently as well as part of a team, and are interested in building a career and growing sustainable, local food. Pay rate begins at $15/hour with opportunity for future wage increase with experience and longevity. Benefits for full time employees include Health and Dental insurance and 401K Retirement match.
