Zero Grocery is the first plastic-free online grocery store in the United States. We're growing fast (really fast!). Our digital retail platform allows us to deliver fresh, high-quality groceries and everyday goods directly to customers without an ounce of single-use plastic. Zero was founded in 2019 by Zuleyka Strasner, or Z as we call her. After living plastic-free for 18 months, Z was inspired to make it easier for families across the U.S to shop zero-waste groceries with next-day delivery. She couldn't do it alone, however, and has since hired an all-star team of developers, designers, grocery operations ninjas, and consultants — and also raised $4.7m from investors — to make it happen. We're looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our dedicated team of driver leads. As part of the Fleet Operations team, you'll support an integral part of daily operations for the company and help us provide an excellent customer and driver experience. Responsibilities: - Organize and load our 26' refrigerated box trucks and drive them out to one of our local facilities in either Los Angeles or Berkeley. - Safely operating our trucks, stopping at all necessary weigh stations along your route - At our local facility, you'll organize and load another truck to bring back to our facility in Fresno. - Working up to 5 days a week, including weekends and during graveyard hours, for up to 8-10 hours per day. - Quickly communicate last minute changes to HQ using internal messaging tools About you: - Valid driver's license (a commercial drivers license is not required) with a clean record. - Able to operate a refrigerated box truck that is up to 26 ft long - Able to lift up to 50 pounds throughout a full work shift - Able to (or willing to learn how to) operate an electric pallet jack - Familiar with shipping large quantities of food and driving large trucks - Hyper organized, able to keep track of many moving parts - Dedicated team player, with a get-it-done-right mentality - Strong communication skills and familiarity with internal messaging tools such as Slack - Comfortable driving long periods of time (4+ hours at a time), including at night Pay Rate: - $17/hr - This is an hourly position with potential to transition to part/full time depending on business need How to Apply: - Please reply with a copy of your resume and let us know what you think makes you a good fit for this role
