Pond Technician / Laborer Position with Family-Owned Pond Service Co.

The Contracting Division of Practical Garden Ponds is looking for an additional team member to work in the Downingtown and surrounding area helping to service and maintain ornamental ponds. We will provide training. Compensation: $15/hour or more, depending on ability and experience level Employment: Full-time / seasonal with the opportunity for a person who is a great fit to be retained full-time permanent in a year-round as a pond technician. Applicant must have valid PA driver license and be willing to undergo background check. Dependability is of great value to this team. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm with lots of opportunity for overtime in the evenings and on Saturdays during the spring season. In spring it will be necessary to stay well past 4:00 pm some days. Primary duties include: * Pond cleanings. This involves using a pond vacuum and power washer. * Position can grow into pond repair and installation technician. * Positive interaction with team members and customers. * Proper care of koi, goldfish and other pond inhabitants. Required qualities include: * Good physical health and strength * Appreciation of the outdoors and willing to work in a variety of conditions. * Ability to follow directions and stick to best practices and proper routines. * Availability weekdays during typical business hours, some evenings and an occasional Saturday. * Ability to lift at least 50 pounds Additional skills that are desirable but not necessarily required: * Hands on experience with landscaping, ornamental water features, aquaponics, or aquariums commercially or personally. * Interest in ponds and water features.
