Seeking an enthusiastic and motivated worker with a strong work ethic looking for an opportunity to learn the food industry from a food truck. Matt’s Catch is a tide-to-table food truck on a mission to bring wild Alaskan Salmon from Bristol Bay, AK to San Diego, CA. Bristol Bay is regarded by the Monterey Aquarium as one of the most sustainable fisheries in the world- meaning we get to feel good about the food we serve and. You will be taught all necessary skills, processes, and procedures on the job, but be ready- this is a fast-paced environment. Tasks include food preparation, line set-up and breakdown, complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A SAN DIEGO COUNTY FOOD HANDLER’S PERMIT. Essential Functions • Preparing of food served using established production procedures and systems. • Complying with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards. • Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques. • Storing food properly and safely. • Reporting necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor. • Preparing all food following standard recipes. • Keeping work area neat and clean at all times. • Cleaning/maintaining equipment used in food preparation. • Following proper safety policies, procedures, and practices. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise. Physical Demands You will be required to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. There is substantial repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and fingers. Expected Hours of Work Hours vary based on scheduled food truck events. Nights and weekends may be required.
