Seeking Loud, Aggressive Musicians

Meets

Los Angeles CA

Description

I'm a drummer of 20 years and I've spent more or less the past 10 playing in post-rock bands in Chicago. That's all well and fine, but you can only sit around at 90 BPM watching guitarists compete for who gets to play the last twinkly note in a song that bores everyone for so long. I love bludgeoning my drums and I'd like to meet other musicians who are comfortable playing loud, aggressive music. Thrash, Doom, Stoner, Sludge, etc. I'm less concerned with the descriptive and more intent on finding cohesion with like-minded individuals who treat their instrument of choice as a discipline. I'm 32, have done regional touring, and work as a copywriter during the day. I'm posting this because I love and miss playing music: I held a seat in my college's orchestra and have studio experience, most notably recording at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio with Greg Norman (Russian Circles, GY!BE). I'm currently scouting lockouts and ideally, I'd like to find any configuration of guitarist/bassist/synth, establish a space, and start building a rapport. If this sounds like a fit, reach out and let's talk about summoning towers of decibels. I'm including a list of bands for reference and links to my past work. Thanks and have a good one. High on Fire, Sleep, Torche, Russian Circles, Young Widows, Old Man Gloom, Slayer, Metz, Converge, Mastodon, Mutoid Man, Every Time I Die, Baroness, Metallica, The Armed https://open.spotify.com/artist/1jXSPH7RrWqUZcARDUJcka?si=fa9a_I1nRyex3FVO64uYWg https://open.spotify.com/track/2AtN8pfYz9h2zg9ffSR4pf?si=5uZ2EcmyS9mtfP6VhoGh6Q https://open.spotify.com/track/7tngDXkfKmwFhYu7aXWBIC?si=CXvOC0p3QZus6gq54yQvag
