Creative Writing Workshop Summer 2021 [exact dates to be determined] A creative writing workshop for all levels based on the Amherst Writers + Artists approach, a non-academic, non "correct English" yet structured approach to expressing our voices. Fever Writers, groups of writers, writing together, for periods of three - five consecutive weeks. In Phase I we write new work together. (In Phase II, we polish, publish.) Phase I: The Practice of New Work The group writes together in response to a prompt. The leaders write and read along with the participants. The group responds to new writing with positive feedback remarking on only “what is strong” and “what stays with me.” The leaders gently guide this process. No questions or suggestions are offered in response to new work. All work is treated as fiction to protect it as "art" and to protect the vulnerability of the writer. No work written outside the workshop is read in the Phase I workshop.
