Hi! This is Shadow. She's what the pet adoption people believed to be a Black Lab/Border Collie mix. We're putting her up for adoption mainly because our lifestyle isn't fair to her, we don't take her on walks and we're both away from the house for about 40 hours a week. We're hoping to find her a family that more time to dedicate to playing with the dogs. We don't take the decision to put her up for adoption lightly, but when my wife and I were both single, we each had a dog and cat of our own, now we have to many pets and too little time to take care of them. Moreover, we want to travel more and we don't want to worry about finding a pet sitter for her. She's freshly vaccinated February 27th, 2021, and has a clean bill of health (with the exception of being about 10 pounds over weight). She's a very sweet dog, she played mommy to a couple kittens a few years back, and loves to play with our other pets. She understands sit, lay and no pretty well, but she's not quite trained well enough to contain her excitement and likes to jump up on people. She's gotten into a few fights with our pitbull, but almost all those fights were the dogs being territorial over food. The other fight the pitbull was the aggressor. The fights have been rare, and Shadow and the pitbull act very loving with one another 99 days out of 100, but neither of them are submissive enough to prevent those rare bad days. You can have her kennel as well, as I stated earlier, we are trying to simplify our pet situation we have too many. There's no rehoming fee, but I would like to know a little but about any of the families interested in taking her, so I know she's going to a good family.
