Wunder Garten's DC Kidney Awareness Day Event will join with Brandon Bayton, the organizer behind the DC Kidney Health Campaign, and the American Kidney Fund to recognize National Kidney Month (March) and World Kidney Day on March 11. “Kidney disease cuts lives tragically short and kills more people each year than prostate or breast cancer,” said LaVarne A. Burton, president and CEO of the American Kidney Fund. Often diabetes and hypertension are the lead indicators that an individual’s kidneys may not be function properly. More than 130,000 people are diagnosed with kidney failure each year. It is a life-altering condition that imposes enormous physical, emotional, and financial burdens and the District of Columbia is the epicenter. The DC Kidney Health Campaign seeks to bring much needed attention and education about the prevention and management of Kidney Disease. Wunder Garten through its DC Kidney Awareness Day Event will offer selected drink specials of which $1.00 of each drink purchased will be donated to support the efforts of the American Kidney Fund. In addition, Wunder Garten will be hosting games, special contest, and giveaways that include a three-hour cabana rental with a $100.00 drink tab, two tickets to Artechouse (subject to date and time availability) and more. In addition, Wunder Garten will be promoting a special social media contest whereby participants can win $100.00.
