Description

Alright, hear me out: I've been in the process of putting songs together towards a concept album (based on a ancient Greek character that you'll probably guess), and I'd appreciate someone willing to sit down and critique (above most other things) riff quality, transitions, and overall song structure. I'm otherwise aware of the raw production value, so I'll need someone that doesn't quickly suffer from ear fatigue either, as they currently sound 'less bad' in headphones, rather than monitors. The songs themselves are largely incomplete, and are more so exoskeletons comprised of guitar riffs and (midi) drums. I take a lot of influence from various metal and -core genres, but don't want to waste time over-classifying or name dropping; I'd much rather hear your uninfluenced opinions. The end result will be vastly different than its current manifestation, but I'm hitting some stumbling blocks, and would really appreciate an extra set of ears that I unfortunately don't have. Listening to the tracks will take about 35 minutes of your time. (I may be willing to compensate at a very, very meager rate, as added incentive, bearing in mind that I'm currently unemployed.) Bonus round: I'd love to find some local musicians to help flesh this project out--namely a solid and collaborative bassist (who can hold down the tonic/dominant when necessary, but bring some other ideas to the table when there's space), and a bang-up drummer who is strongly influenced by heavy metal, punk, and (to a lesser extent), jazz. Maybe a guest harsh vocalist too for other characters. Reach out, and I'll be happy to give more info.
