You’ll be amazed at the professional look you will get by yourself right on your home machine! In this series, we'll use the Westalee Sampler Ruler set as we learn how to create a Mandala Wholecloth Quilt. We'll also be exploring ways to embellish your wholecloth quilt. Come the join fun of rulerwork! SUPPLY LIST AND CLASS POLICY Quilt Sandwiches – 2 quilt sandwiches, at least 24” x 24,” one 28” x 28” will give you a little more room to “play.” The backing and batting should be about 2” larger on each side. Using a solid fabric is helpful so you can see what you're creating! One of the sandwiches will be used for practice. Use your favorite batting, mine is Hobbs Heirloom or Quilters Dream 80/20. Thread – a good quality thread with at least a little contrast to your top fabric. Polyester thread works well. I like to use Sew Fine, Isacord, or Glide thread, and they work well in my machine. Ruler Foot for your machine – either one specific to your machine brand or a Westalee generic foot. For the Westalee feet, you will need to know if your machine is high or low shank. Extension Table – this is a highly recommended for ruler work and a great thing to have for your machine. Bring it if you have one. Rulers – Westalee Sampler Set is recommended, if you have other rulers you would like to use, please let Maggie know. Handi Grips or True Grips – recommended for the back of the rulers to help keep them from sliding Fabric Marking pen – frixion or blue washout Ruler – 24” for marking guidelines on your fabric Scissors Machine - in good working order along with your machine manual. You will need to be able to drop you feed dogs. Supreme Slider - is recommended but not required Pad of paper – 18” x 24” would be great if you have one. If not, Maggie will have some that size. Mechanic Pencil EZ Quilting Seam Guide recommended, Maggie will have some with her for you to try. CLASS POLICY - You will be required to wear a mask. - Payment secures your spot in a class. - A notice of at least 3 days (72 hours) is required from a registered student who is unable to attend the class in order to receive a credit for the class. - If weather or any other variable becomes an issue on the day of a scheduled class, the class may have to be canceled.
