Golden retriever mix looking for new home

We have a golden retriever mix we are looking to find a new home for. He is 5 years old, about 40lbs and has been such a wonderful companion to our family. His name is Chesnee and we have just started looking into rehoming him because I am very allergic. After many years of having him in the house (and me having too many antibiotics and sinus surgery) we decided he needs to stay outside. We were told that he was a non- shedding goldendoodle (he has turned out to be definitely not that, but still cute nonetheless!) Chesnee is an excellent outdoor dog but would love more attention and maybe to be an indoor dog again. He has a good amount of energy but is snuggly, house trained, obeys simple commands, and would thrive having someone work with him some more. Chesnee loves our young babies and toddlers and has always been so gentle with them. He would do best without other animals around as he has not had much training around them. Though we are very sad to be looking for a new home for him, we know that he would be happier with someone who could spend more time with him.
