Join us in Ouray, CO — known as the Switzerland of America — for a fun-filled few days exploring Black Bear, Imogene, and the Alpine Loop! Ouray, Colorado — ever heard of it? Ouray has earned its famous reputation as one of the West’s premier outdoor adventure destinations. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be returning to the San Juan Mountains this summer to hold the seventh annual LCDC based in Ouray. Whether this will mark your first trip the area or your hundredth, you and your family are guaranteed a fun-filled escape to this jewel of the Uncompaghre and San Juan National Forests amidst ample opportunities for four-wheel driving, fishing, hiking, and exploring historic mountain towns. The event will formally begin the evening of Wednesday, July 28th, with a celebratory welcome event and conclude the evening of Saturday, July 31st. We expect to open registration in late January. In the meantime, we want to share information that we’ve nailed down: COVID-19. We are optimistic that the pandemic will be less of an active issue by summer and that we will be able to hold a safe event while following local regulations. While our fingers are crossed that everything will work out, we also acknowledge that in a worst-case scenario we may need to cancel the event. We will proceed with positivity and will keep folks in the loop along the way.Event Capacity. Once registration opens, we will cap the event at a specific number of registered drivers and people can join a waitlist once the event reaches the cap.Fees. There will be a registration fee as well as a cut-off date for refunds. We still need to work out some details with the USFS and BLM before finalizing the amount but it's looking like it'll be around $200.Accommodations. The event will be based out of Ouray and we highly recommend staying in or camping around Ouray. Ridgway would also be an option. Silverton and Telluride are too far away. There are no large hotel chains in Ouray but plenty of well-regarded local accommodations at every price point. There are also vacation rentals, campgrounds, and dispersed camping options.
